Do you agree with her characterization of Central Appalachia as an energy sacrifice zone. Some of the arguments of Shannon Bells Sacrifice so Others Can Live More Conveniently is that some regions where
people live are exploited due to pollution, and land destructions are not bad since due to the exploitation many of the American citizens would benefit even if few of them would have to suffer. Many corporations have been established to ensure access of cheap energy by the consumers thus it is legit according to Bell to exploit the Native American tribal and also take their land to ensure that the American can get cheaper energy and not to suffer due to the high cost of energy. According to me, I agree with the characterization of Central Appalachia as an energy sacrifice zone since taking the land from the citizens in order to ensure that the Americans can get cheaper and reliable energy would be necessary since the project would benefit many of the citizens compared with those who would be affected by the land taken away from them. Therefore; identifying Central Appalachia as an energy sacrifice zones is ideal since those individuals living on that land would sacrifice their land and resources so that the Americans would benefit from the being relocated
