you to a book review of three books. You are to read the article about these three books.
Your paper is based on these two links. The Department of Public Safety (DPS) link
takes you to a booklet, “Texas License to Carry a Handgun.”
The purpose of this paper is to give you an opportunity to learn the history of guns, the
Second Amendment and the state laws that give Texans the right to carry a handgun.
? Answer the following questions regarding the history of guns in the United
States:
o Give a brief history of guns in the United States based on your reading of
“Bang for the Buck.” What information regarding the history of guns
surprised or interested you?
o Discuss the confusion surrounding the meaning of the Second
Amendment.

your political views and socialization. Answer preview………………..History of Guns. A brief history of guns in the United States based on your reading of “Bang for the Buck.” According to the “Bag for the Buck” reading, guns were essential tools in the early parts of the United States history. However, the intensity of the mystique surrounding guns increased as the frontier disappeared. During the colonial, Americans were organized in militias and used guns to fight the colonial rulers, like King George III. At the same time, the militia used the weapons to acquire land, such as the one that was placed beyond the Appalachian-Allegheny mountain range. The British had put the land off-limits to the white settlers, but the latter were able to access it because of being well-armed. However, an interesting aspect about the history of guns in the U.S. is that the early gun owners used them to terrorize the African American slaves and native communities. Here, the militias patrolled the Negro houses and punished those who were found outside their owners’ plantations. When the civil ended, the militias morphed into the private rifle groups and the Ku Klux Klan. The number of these groups was high in the south, with South Carolina alone having 240 of them by 1876.
