Ethical Issues RevisionCustomer :Hi.. A question, did u watch the video of the link i provided because it seems like the question was answered incorrectly. It was supposed to be something to this effect :The character that I chose to act as was Jan Klein, RN who is also the research coordinator. She worked as Dr. Sowers coordinator for two years along with making difficult choices. Dr. Sowers conducted all the research studies and asked Jan to schedule a patient to begin the first phase of their newest study/trial (melanoma study) without receiving an IRB approval for protocol. Jan decided to let Dr. Sowers know that it would be wrong to schedule the patient an appointment without the approval for protocol. Dr. Sowers didnt like the fact Jan wanted to confirm updates regarding the approval. Jan made her decision which was to go talk to her supervisor regarding with Dr. Sowers wanted to do without the approval. Once Jane spoke with her supervisor, Dr. Sowers came back to her and told her to disregard scheduling the patient to begin the first phase of their study trial. He wanted to wait for the approval before proceeding with the process. Its always best to speak with your supervisor if you are not sure about doing something or look at the rules and r
egulation or guidance when making a hard decision.Another decision Jane made was organizing weekly meetings for the staff ensuring everyone has the same instructions and guidance with their study thats provided to everyone. The meetings help clarify protocols, reports, discussions or concerns about anything to answer anyone questions someone may have. Scheduling meetings helps everyone to stay current about whats going on and have the right resources in hand while conducting their studies successfully. The choices made within the role I chose affect the outcome by following protocol, speaking with the supervisor to make sure the right decision was made and everyone involved was provided with the same information. Luckily Jane, spoke to her supervisor because she could have easily avoided to not mentioning anything to her supervisor and later would have dealt with the consequences when it comes to scheduling an appointment for the patient and without receiving the approval first. Here are a few factors that lead to unethical choices which are getting pressured to making the wrong decision, Jan could have lost her job and going against Dr. Sowers about his decision. Please make the changes asapAnswer Preview
