..A-B-C Analysis of Target BehaviorsTarget behavior is the disruptive one that is displayed by a child to get the attention of the adults in the environment. It is a form of communication used by the child to express his or her psychological or physical state to those in the setting where the behavior is exhibited (Sklad, Diekstra, Ritter, Ben, & Gravesteijn, 2012). In the video, the challenging behavior of the child was the temper tantrum that was characterized by the way he threw himself on the floor to get the attention of the adults in the room. A further behavioral pattern that occurs when children use target behaviors to communicate their physical and emotional state is the trigger. This behavior is considered the action of others that encourages the continuous engagement in the disruptive ones. While the response from the adult might seem appropriate for dealing with the child, triggers are the enforcers of the target behavior, which results in the maintenance of the consequences that result from the action.( Ward-Horner & Sturmey, 2012)
